December 30th, 2007Mated Pair of Coral Banded Shrimp
December 25th, 2007I took this picture under a clump of rocks just off the cliffs here in Negril. I was diving of Heartbeat Resort in Negril Jamaica when I saw this pair of shrimp under a rock ledge. I actually took the picture upside down and flipped it with Picasa so every one can see it properly.
Growing up in the Florida Keys I used to have these in my fish tank at home. I caught them near the bridge at Boca Chica and kept them in buckets till I got them home.

December 22nd, 2007Jeweled Damsel off Heartbeat Resort
December 20th, 2007These three pictures are of the Jeweled Damsel fish so common here in the Caribbean. The juvenile jewel damsels are some of the prettiest of all the tropicals withthe brightest spots you ever saw on a fish that will actually light up as the fish gets excited.. The first photo above gives the best view of the jeweled damsel I have ever been able to take. These fish are very shy and tricky to get a good picture of but I’ll keep trying.
