Juvenile French Angel 2

Juvenile French Angel 3

This juvenile French Angel fish defends his home as best he can from an intrusive diver like me looking for some decent diving pictures. The French Angels go through quite a coloe transformation and become a much different fish later in life.

School of Juvenile Black Tang over Coral

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

A string of black tang swims over a coral head for a nice picture

This school of juvenile black tang swims over a piece of coral into the sunlight at just about the perfect timing. This picture came out a little better because I was more stable and able the light helped the photo come out better than some others on the same trip.

Yellow and Black Tang

A Juvenile Blue Tang

In these shots you can see that I am chasing the fish and to far for a decent shot but the fish in Jamaica are scared for their lives when you consider they eat every kind of fish you ever saw in this country. The waters are so overfished they have taken to eating tropicals and other non food fish.

Banded Butterfly off Negril Beach 1

A juvenile banded butterfly fish photo taken off of Negril Beach agfain with the SeaLife SL320 in near shore shallow waters on a dark day. The lighting came out better at this depth and settings.

A red bivalve seashell on the sea floor in Negril Beach

These two pictures are from the SeaLife camera in Sea Mode. It gives off a pinkish hue at shallow depths and seems to work best in deeper conditions with good strong light. For shallower conditions or low light it seems the standard photo mode works well and with less color distortion. I’m no pro but Iknow it’s a bivalve shell similar to the Lions Paw but more oval in shape.

One of the first pics from my new SeaLife SL320

Here is one of the first pics form my new Sea Life SL320 underwater digital video camera. I’m just learning the thing but it looks like a cool toy. This bait fish was swimming around my feet off Negril Beach so I took a couple shots for playing with the new camera.

There were also a couple larger fish swimming in mini schools. These two juvenile permit kept me entertained for quite some time as I chased them for the right shot. I know you’re not really supposed to chase them but it was fun going around in circles with them as I tried for a better shot.
